Tool Change Process
WARNING – Follow all required lockout and tagout procedures when executing a tool change.
Pick up required tool with the optional tool change cart.
Load the tool into the Smart Machine Base, moving forward until the vertical location rods come in contact with the locators on the Smart Machine Base.
Note: SMB stations are set up to load tools from the rear of the station. If front loading is desired the two location features will need to be rotated 180 degrees.
Once in position, lower the tool until it comes in contact with the support surfaces.
Lower the forks and remove the tool change cart.
If applicable connect the following items to complete the tool installation
- 110VAC twist lock plug for tool power
- Ethernet connection
- USB connection
- Multi-pin connector
- Multi-port pneumatic connector
Remove the SD card from the card holder on the side of the tool pack electrical enclosure.
Open the access door on the RH tower.
Place the SD card in the card slot on the PLC.
Remove lock out / tag out components.
Turn the main power to the ON position to power up the station.
Follow the instructions on the HMI.
When instructed remove the SD card and place back into the card holder.
The station is now ready to run.
